Will hydrogen peroxide sting when put on stitched wound?

I have 4 stitches above my knee from a "laceration". The doctor who put the stitches in said to use hydrogen peroxide when changing the bandages. Will it sting at all? i'd just like to know ahead of time so i won't flinch if it does.
