What is the significance of pradosham/ pradosh fasting? does it remove all bad yogas & doshas of horoscope?

does pradosh fasting nullify shani related problems and bad effects of shani like shani sadesati, shani mahadasha and rahu ketu related problems etc. ? how to observe this fast? is it similar to somvar vrat?
