Connecting iphone to wifi without the pword?

im tryin to connect my iphone to my houses wifi but noone knows the pword!! but my router has a on next to a padlock icon im thinking i can use this somehow.. but pressing it just makes the padlock flash but it doesnt unlock it... help?
