Oh...my aching bulging disc!?

I have a bulging disc with degenerative disc disease. I've never had back trouble in my life. I've got 3 jobs (I know, I know...) and 3 kids. I got my first cortisone epidural earlier this week. I had a little bit of relief for a day or so, but now the pain is back. Am I headed for fusion surgery? My PT and ortho think it's down the line, since nothing else is working.
