Can i use timothy hay as guinea pig bedding?

can i ? and if i do how often will i have toclean it out? im thinking new hay every 2 or 3 days & cleaning the cage once a week but idk. would it be ok? its just that my friends pig died and gave me 2 giant bags of timothy hay. so i was thinking i could use it as bedding for a while after my carefresh runs out. but idk if it would cause a URI or anything. would it act as okay bedding? x
